Yes, the series on journaling continues.  I know…how can one person have so much to say on keeping a journal?  Well let me tell you: there’s a lot to say!  Journaling is important, and an amazing way to improve your walk with Jesus.

So, this time we’re talking about how we get guys to keep a personal journal.  Guys don’t typically flock to the stores to buy a pretty pink journal with flowers on it to put their deepest thoughts in.  It takes a discerning eye to choose a journal that a guy is going to really value and use.

Those who know me well know that somewhere in here will be my shameless plug for Moleskine notebooks.  I love Moleskine notebooks more than any other journal I have had, and am currently on my fifth full-sized notebook.

There’s a lot more to picking a journal for a guy than that, however.  Check out my article to find out more.

If you’re interested, please read my article on how to choose a journal for a guy HERE.

Alright, everyone, this is the last article in my series on the benefits of journaling.  This one focuses in on how journaling can develop your depth and thought life.

Journaling is not just for writing down the little things that happen in your life, it’s about becoming a deep person who has an impact on the world around and on people. Journaling is about becoming the kind of person that you respect.

journalingI have posted another in my series on journaling.  This one is entirely about using your journal to process through all of the things that happen in your life, and using that slow act of processing through writing to learn more and grow better from your experiences in the world around you.

Journaling 101: An Outlet for Prayer
Be quiet. You heard me, Christians…we talk too much. Find out why we should shut our mouths and give ourselves time to let God connect the synapses in our heads.

One of the biggest influences on my spiritual growth over the past many years has been my journal.  My prayer journal has allowed me to think more deeply and make more connections between my life, Scripture, and the lives of others than I would have been able to make otherwise.

I don’t believe that my experience with journaling is limited just to me.  Journaling has a way of bringing out the whole of a matter, whether good or bad. When the pen hits the paper, our minds begin to transform our experiences into a tangible record of thoughts, emotions, and actions. That record…

Journaling 101: A Tangible Evidence of What God Is Teaching You.

A journal?  What?

That’s right…journaling is one of the most effective ways I’ve found to promote my spiritual growth and keep me on track.  Maybe you’re a guy and you’re saying, “no, journaling is for little girls to talk about all the boys and every little emotional thing that happens.”  WRONG!  Journaling, note-taking, and evaluation can make a HUGE difference in your effectiveness as a person who is following after God’s own heart.

One of the greatest things that a journal can do for you is give you evidence that God is working on and in you, and promote even greater learning from the things that are happening in the world around you.  Journaling regularly provides tangible evidence of what God is teaching you.  If you…READ MORE
